What makes PATH different?

 

PATH takes a comprehensive view of hospital performance, which makes it a unique internal tool for strategic decision making in hospital governance. The multidimensional approach not only presents a broad overview of the strengths and weaknesses of the hospital as a whole but also facilitates a direct linkage between the hospital's strategic objectives and the different quality indicators. Likewise, the performance indicators of the PATH model are standardized tools which are consistent with other international projects and allow for concrete, active improvement activities at the operational level via mutual learning through active networks.

PATH clearly supports hospitals that are in the early stages of performance assessment and helps them prepare for the future.
Thus, PATH has not been developed to replace the existing recognized tools, but aims at building synergies and bringing together the different aspects of performance in a single measurement system.

PATH is not only about performance measurement; it encourages a continuous learning and evaluation process in hospitals through the establishment of an active network.
